WHERE IS MY TRUE NORTH?
BEING UNDERESTIMATED
The advantage of being underestimated is that there is an assurance that I will have my last laugh when the truth says I am more than what they envisaged or most the time I am more than what is mischievously circulated. There was one time when I have finished a job; someone commented that the end result was too good to be true. Excuse me?
SHOW OFF
I don’t need to prove anything and yet sometimes I pity those people who do not know how to give the benefit of the doubt.
Morrie said in his book: “Mitch, if you're trying to show off for people at the top, forget it. They will look down at you anyhow. And if you're trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will only envy you. Status will get you nowhere. Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone.”
FABRICATED TRUTH
Someone says something not true to another. A fabricated truth is still not true. Whenever there is a chance that the truth will emerge, you fabricate again and again to cover it. It is such a high maintenance which is a waste of time that is supposed to be spent in something worthwhile.
LEADER VS MANAGER
It’s best to have a leader that is principle centred who will guide you to true north. What is a leader compared to a manager. In climbing a wall, a manager can excel in planning, finding issues and options, assessing, analysing pros and cons, budgeting time and finances, implementing, supervising workers in constructing the ladder. If the manager is in the wrong wall, his talent is in vain. A principle centred leader will direct you to the right wall.
ACCOLADES.
A man who is obsessed with accolades would always make sure that there’s no one would top him on the list. He is always on the look out for potential competition. Once he spot one, he would invest time to erase him from the scene or prevent him from doing what he can excel. He may be smart to steal ideas from the rival and disintegrate him afterwards. Disintegration has many forms: making the rival a laughing stock, destroy the reputation, limit is resources to do things to name a few. There is no difference between him and a con artist. Taking advantage is always in his agenda to serve his obsession to be recognized. What he doesn’t know is that his twisted actions are obvious. Because of his obsession he is being blinded from realizing that people are smarter than what he thinks they are. Unless he wakes up, people keep on shaking their head every time he does things twisted.
OBJECTIVE AND SUBJECTIVE
A group of individuals who are working together with unclear objective will end up with no good result. Everyone should agree with one objective. Once you have agreed with one, every one should refrain from being subjective.
