Vzpomínky na jedno dobrodružství by Robert Fulghum My rating: 4 of 5 stars I love reading Mr Fulghum's writing. It's light. It's fun. And full of insights. This one never miss a thing to entertain and to inspire. Thanks to this book, I got a new perspective on the benefit I got from dancing. Now I am more excited to dance frequently. HELLO FISH

We’ve discussed about fish passage in river controlling structures in the meeting.   This one of the free flow permitted activity conditions one should look at in installing dams, culverts and weirs in the river.   As a river management engineer fish passage is one of those I almost neglect in the designing river controlling structures. I am more on the flood control scheme, managing flows, improving hydraulic efficiency, decreasing roughness of the channel. And then I was given a task to come up with public information to be published region wide and online about the awareness of fish passage.   I was given a task to enlighten the community about something I need to be enlightened about as well.   On the brighter side, I begin to know better.   The migration of fish is part of their life cycle.   Culverts, dams and weirs that are not designed the right way would disrupt the life cycle and become hazards to the whole ecology.   I am imagining that ...

Filipino Sweet Style Spaghetti

This morning, I craved for a Filipino Sweet Style Spaghetti. And so I told Claire that I was gonna go to the Asian Store in Cashel to buy that Del Monte Filipino Sweet Style Spaghetti sauce. She told me that she wanted to come along so she would see what else she could buy in the store. Then JC has to come along with us. . Along with the sauce and spaghetti, I prepared grinded meat, Kransky (substitute for the Purefoods hotdog which we do not have here), onions, green pepper, carrots, and garlic. And so I cooked. I was sure I could never go wrong as long as I have the Filipino Sweet Style Spaghetti Sauce. It was almost like I thought that I could do with more or less ingredients and still I could come up with del...

Signs and Symptoms of Stress

The first session of the Seminar on Managing Stress is interesting because it directed me to a knowledge of whether I am stressed or not. Symptoms of stress are enumerated and for sure I have a couple of them. Hey! Hang on! Am I really stressed? I can just say to myself that I am not stressed and I am doing fine. Symptoms like these would just give me a wake up call that maybe I am. Regardless of the authenticity of these symptoms, having one or more of these traits would make my performance poorer. Whether I believe that these are authentic symptoms or not, regardless of the identification of the symptoms, I would accept the fact, given the big adjustments and the hang-ups of several changes after I moved in NZ such as culture, language and accents, weather, work relations and styles, that I together with all the pinoy immigrants are prone to stress. The level of stress depends on how you behave with changing circumstances. The enumerated symptoms can be beneficial after all...
